Valtrex tablets can be taken with or without food. If it upsets your stomach, try taking it with food. The scored 1 gram tablet can be split in half if needed, but the unscored 500 mg tablet should not be split. This flexibility in administration makes it easier for patients to take their medication as prescribed.
