Albendazole is an antiparasitic medication that covers a broad range of helminths (worms), including roundworms (Ascaris), hookworms, whipworms (Trichuris), and threadworms (Strongyloides). It is also effective against certain tapeworms (such as Taenia and Echinococcus species) and some flukes. Albendazole is not effective against most protozoa.
