Tagrisso should not be taken with strong CYP3A inducers like rifampicin, phenytoin, or St. John’s Wort, as these can reduce the effectiveness of Tagrisso. If these cannot be avoided, the Tagrisso dose may need to be increased to 160mg daily. CYP3A refers to a group of liver enzymes that process many drugs; interactions can affect how well medications work or cause side effects.
