Vyzulta works by using latanoprostene bunod, which is a prostaglandin analog. It lowers intraocular pressure (IOP) in two ways: by increasing the outflow of fluid through both the uveoscleral pathway and the trabecular meshwork. This dual action makes it more effective than similar medications like latanoprost, which only work in one way. Lowering IOP helps prevent optic nerve damage and vision loss.
